Licensure · Fundamentals of Geology
The eight official content domains, what each one actually asks, and which games drill it.
FG is not a graduation requirement. It’s step one toward becoming a licensed Professional Geologist, and full licensure also needs five years of professional experience. Florida lets you take FG in your senior year once you’ve completed 30+ semester hours of geology coursework, with a Letter of Good Standing from your school. Most people do it then for one reason: the material is never fresher than the year you finish your degree.
Geomorphology (Domain D, 14%), Hydrogeology (Domain F, 13%) and Sedimentology/Stratigraphy (Domain C, 11%) together account for 38% of every FG question — and all three are standard upper-division coursework. If you are taking them, your coursework and your exam prep are the same work.
Weights are the official FG test blueprint. Tap a domain to see what it covers, what already drills it, and where the gaps are.
Ordered by what buys you the most marks, not by what’s most fun.
